Our Lodge and condo are a 35 minute drive along the shores of Turnagain Arm South of Anchorage in the quaint Girdwood Valley, home of Mt. Alyeska Ski Resort.
After renting your car at the Ted Stevens International Airport in Anchorage, you will exit the airport on International Airport Rd. Continue along this road away from the airport (east) until you come to Minnesota Blvd about a mile from the airport. Turn South on Minnesota Blvd. Continue on Minnesota Blvd until you reach the Seward Highway (this is about 5 miles). Take a right (South) onto the Seward Highway.
Stay on the Seward Highway for 30-40 minutes and enjoy the drive along Turnagain Arm. Make sure to watch for Beluga whales along the shores and Dall Sheep on the cliffs as you travel along what has been voted among the ten most scenic highways in the US.
You will take a left off the Seward Highway onto the Alyeska Highway into the Girdwood Valley and Mt. Alyeska. There is a strip mall with gas, 7-11, diner, pizza place, gift shop etc at the intersection of the Seward and Alyeska Highway.
Directions to Five Star Executive Lodge from Seward Highway/Alyeska Highway Intersection
The Alyeska Highway is only 3 miles long. The 5 star Executive Lodge is located on the corner of the Alyeska highway and Timberline Dr. which is on your right side about 2-3 miles down the highway, just several blocks short of the end of the highway and the mountain. The address is 115 Timberline Dr.
Turn right onto Timberline Dr. and our drive way is the first one on the left side. The house is all redwood exterior siding and has a sign that says Win and Audrey Faulkner on the side facing the driveway – you can’t miss it.
Directions to Mountain Side Condo from Seward Highway/Alyeska Highway Intersection
The Alyeska Highway is only 3 miles long. My Condo is located at the base of the mountain near “Chair 3” in the Alyeska North Condominiums. Continue to the end of the Alyeska Highway. It ends at the base of the mountain at the large Alyeska Resort sign. The road goes right or left at this point. Take a left here onto Arlberg. Continue for only about 100 yards and take a right at Olympic Mountain Loop. Olympic Mountain Loop delivers you into the parking lot of the old Alyeska Resort hotel. Our condo building is on the far left side of this parking lot closest to the mountain. The address is 366 Crystal Mountain Rd (this is slightly confusing since Crystal Mountain Rd. is the road on the back side of the Condos, not the road you just drove in on). The condo building is tan with a green roof. To get to the Condo building drive up and around to the left. Unfortunately our building has no sign saying Alyeska North condos, nor does it have an address on the building. There is a parking lot in front of the Condo building you may park in. Parking pass will be on the table inside the unit.
Shuttle Service in Girdwood
Girdwood has a shuttle service to the lifts from the lodge. Although the distance is only 1/4 mile, this may make your life a bit easier. The shuttle also goes to the Prince Hotel and around the valley from both the lodge and the condo, stopping just outside our units. Glacier Valley Shuttle Service link.
